Proportion is a principle of design. It refers to the relationship between objects with respect to size, number, and so on, including the relation between parts of a whole.
This is a study of facial proportions by Leonardo Da Vinci.
Click on the slider to see some of Leonardo’s ideas about the position and size of the different elements of the human face.
Today we know that not every face has the same proportions.
We value difference, and everyone should feel proud of their face’s unique features.
But still, Leonardo's ideas can be of great help when trying to draw a face.
